Pregnancy Symptoms


In doubts whether you are pregnant or not??? Want to be 100% sure before you break the news? There are many ways in which your body informs you of the special development taking place within. It may be difficult to assess them at times, but following is a list that will help you understand the situation better. However, it is not necessary that these Pregnancy Symptoms confirm your pregnancy; they may also lead to indicate of an illness. The event of Pregnancy is subjective to a lot of reasons and the Pregnancy Symptoms (signs of pregnancy) vary from case to case.



Early Signs of Pregnancy or Early Pregnancy Symptoms:


Spotting / Light bleeding: Another symptom for pregnancy is spotting or light bleeding after 12 days of conception. This is mostly before the regular period due date. The colour of the discharge is normally light pink or dark brown. This symptom is known as Implantation Bleeding.  It is one amongst the most common early Pregnancy Symptoms but may not necessarily be due to pregnancy. It can also happen due stress or illness.

Cramping: Cramping or pain in the lower pelvic region is also a sign of pregnancy. You may mistake it as the regular menstrual pain, but due to the absence of the regular cycle that is meant to follow, it is a potential sign for pregnancy.

Missing Menstrual Cycle: For many years it has been the belief that missing a period cycle is a vital sign of pregnancy. This is one of the early signs but there are many reasons that could lead to a missing a normal Menstrual Cycle. Many women today due to increase of stress suffer with lifestyle disorder diseases; hence they face irregularity in their menstrual cycle. Also factors like illness, weigh loss/ gain, stress etc. could be a cause of this symptom.

However, in case you wish to try a pregnancy test it is required that you have missed a cycle.

Nausea: For women who suffer with irregular period cycles, feeling nauseous for a number of days is the first sign to be considered. This occurrence is termed as ‘morning sickness’, but is not limited to just the morning!!

It is triggered by a strong sense of smell that develops in pregnant women due to the increase in the levels of estrogen. Hence scents like cigarette smoke, cooking of food etc. lead to a nauseous feeling.

Fatigue & Dizziness: Increase of hormones like progesterone, lower sugar levels and increase in blood production cause unusual feeling of tiredness and drowsiness. This too is an early Pregnancy Symptoms. It is advisable that you consult your doctor as these developments require medical attention.

Frequent Urinarion: The need to visit the restroom frequently can be considered as a sign, provided it is accompanied by the other symptoms discussed. In case of pregnancy this need arises due to the pressure built on the bladder by the growing uterus. Also the water content of the body increases.

Frequency in urination can be sign for some other complication if not accompanied by the usual pregnancy symptoms. It is advisable to visit your doctor immediately.

Rise in Body Temperature: In case you are trying to determine ovulation you are required to monitor your body temperature regularly. If your body temperature is higher than the normal for a period of days, it may indicate you are pregnant.

Do All Women Get Early Pregnancy Symptoms?

Not all women will experience each of these symptoms or have the symptoms to the same degree. The early pregnancy symptoms vary from woman to woman and even from pregnancy to pregnancy.  Some women experience signs or pregnancy symptoms within a week of conception. For other women, pregnancy symptoms may develop over a few weeks or may not be present at all.
